History
Vimla International boasts an impressive and expansive collection of handmade rugs and carpets, showcasing a diverse array of colours and patterns. Founded in 1989, this company stands as a manufacturer and supplier of premium-quality rugs and carpets.
The name “Vimla International” is a tribute to the company’s namesake, Mrs Vimla Devi Jain, a gentle and gracious woman with two hardworking and ambitious sons, Mr Kamlesh Kumar Jain and Mr Dinesh Kumar Jain, who founded the company. Despite their family’s financial struggles, the Jain brothers persevered and pursued their education with great difficulty, starting out by selling Bhujiya and Pakodi to make ends meet. Their father, Mr Prakash Chand Jain, a second-grade teacher in a government school, was the sole breadwinner in the family and couldn’t afford to finance his children’s education.
Mr. Kamlesh Kumar possessed an astute and inquisitive mind, constantly engrossed in observing the intricate processes of spinning, weaving, and threading at the Khadi Ashram in close proximity to his home. It was during one of his travels outside the village that he came across the art of carpet making, which piqued his interest and ignited a deep passion within him. Despite the daunting challenges that lay ahead, he resolved to pursue his dream of starting his own loom. Though unsure of how to go about it, his unwavering determination was bolstered by the unwavering support of his younger brother, and together they embarked on this awe-inspiring journey.
The story unfolds at a critical juncture, where the two brothers are brimming with hope, ideas, and unbridled enthusiasm, but are met with a significant obstacle – a lack of funds. This financial hurdle initially left them feeling crestfallen and disheartened, as they were unable to materialize their dream. They turned to their father, Mr Prakash Chand Jain, for financial assistance, but he was unable to help as he had no savings to spare from his meager income, which was solely devoted to feeding his family. However, his upstanding reputation in the village prompted him to secure a loan to support his sons’ dream. With a mere 1000rs, a glimmer of hope was rekindled, and they were able to procure a loom and employ a weaver. Mr Kamlesh Kumar then took it upon himself to approach several exporters but faced rejection after rejection. Despite these setbacks, he remained determined and resilient and finally secured an order after 7-8 days of persistent effort.

With the order in hand, the two brothers set about their task with fervor and dedication. Mr Kamlesh Kumar and Dinesh Kumar worked tirelessly, dyeing colors and plying threads, fully engrossed in the creation of their masterpiece. After just a month, their efforts bore fruit, and the finished product was a sight to behold. Anxious and nervous, they presented the carpet to the exporter, who was thoroughly impressed and promptly paid them for their work. This marked the beginning of their journey towards success, with more orders flowing in, leading to the expansion of their operations from a single loom to an impressive fleet of 30 looms, and from just two weavers to a team of around 40 skilled artisans. The journey was not without its share of ups and downs, with fluctuating orders and unexpected hurdles testing their mettle. Yet, through it all, the brothers remained resolute, their enthusiasm never waning, and their hope burning ever brighter with each passing day.
The story of Vimla International continued to evolve, with the addition of a new generation. Nitesh Kumar Jain, son of Kamlesh Kumar Jain, possessed all the qualities needed to run a successful business, including a sharp mind, high concentration, self-motivation, and a kind heart, inherited from his grandmother Mrs Vimla Devi. Despite his father’s initial hesitation, Nitesh was determined to take the company to the next level and apply for an IEC to start their own export business. After receiving the certificate, he worked tirelessly to secure orders, sending out around 50 emails before finally receiving a positive response. With the help of his father and uncle, they successfully completed the order, marking the beginning of a new chapter for Vimla International.
With the taste of success from their first shipment, Mr Nitesh and Vimla International were driven to do more exports and never looked back. Each day, they pushed forward, always keeping their focus on their customers, who were delighted with their honest work and unwavering commitment to quality. Vimla International even took the extra step of inviting their buyers to their factory, where they could witness firsthand the meticulous rug-making process and gain an even deeper appreciation for the exceptional products they were purchasing.
From a humble beginning with a single product, Vimla International has come a long way to become a powerhouse in the industry. Today, we offer a vast array of products to our customers, including rugs, carpets, cushion covers, poufs, bags, clutches, runners, door mats, bath mats, woven rugs, printed rugs, belts, and various gift items. Our product line has expanded to meet the diverse needs of our customers, and we continue to innovate and add new items to our collection.
